About corn: The scientific name of corn is Zea mays. Its common technical name is maize. Corn is usually considered as a vegetable but actually it is a grain. It is a seed of a plant in the grass family. Corn is especially yellow but comes in different colors like red, orange, purple, blue, white, and black. Corn is a rich source of carbs, calories, water, proteins, sugar, fiber, fat, vitamin E, and other essential minerals. The most common varieties of corn are popcorn, sweet corn, wholegrain corn.
