About Indian gooseberry: The botanical of Indian gooseberry is Phyllanthus Emblica. They have a tart taste with a slight sweetness. Gooseberries are rich sources of protein, carbs, fiber, vitamin C, B5, B6, manganese, potassium. They are also a rich source of antioxidants. Gooseberries contain a good amount of water. The extracts of gooseberries are also good for hair and skin, they are even used in making cosmetics. There is also another variety of gooseberry that is star gooseberry (telugu: chinna usirikaya). The botanical name of star gooseberry is Phyllanthus Acidus with other common names as West India gooseberry, star berry, country berry.
